Here at Taggart Tutors, we personalise learning. We want learners to feel excited to learn, and to know that it’s possible for them to achieve and succeed.

We take great care in our learner-tutor matching process, thoughtfully pairing each learner with a tutor who suits their needs, personality, and learning style.

With their own specialisms and teaching approaches, our tutors deliver meaningful, lasting tuition that not only builds strong learners, but also helps them develop positive and confident relationships with learning.

Meet the Leadership Team

Brian Berger

  • Brian began his journey in education in 2015 and has been tutoring students since 2019. He moved into the classroom in 2021, bringing with him a strong foundation in working closely with students and supporting their individual growth. In 2019, he co-founded Learning Tree Education & Coaching with Tia after recognising the need for a more supportive and effective approach to learning. He was driven by a desire to help students succeed, finding it incredibly rewarding to see them grow in confidence and achieve outcomes they didn’t think were possible.

    In 2026, Brian and Tia were entrusted with the next chapter of Taggart Tutors, continuing their shared vision of delivering high-quality, student-centred education that makes a meaningful difference.

    With a Bachelor of Business and a Master of Teaching and Learning, Brian brings both strategic insight and practical teaching experience to his work. He is particularly skilled at building genuine relationships with students, taking a real interest in who they are and using this to engage them in their learning.

    Brian is known for his genuine, honest, and no-nonsense approach, balanced with compassion and care. He believes that every student can succeed when given the right support, and that strong relationships are at the core of effective learning.

    Brian is at the centre each day, focusing on the operations and growth of the business while continuing to support both students and staff. His leadership ensures a consistent, high-quality experience for every family who walks through the doors.

    Outside of Taggart Tutors, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife and children, camping and enjoying good food!

Managing Director & Educational Consultant

Tia Berger

  • Tia began her journey in education as a tutor while studying at university and has been teaching in the classroom since 2018. In 2019, she co-founded Learning Tree Education & Coaching with Brian after seeing firsthand how traditional approaches were failing to engage and support many students. She was driven to create an environment that fosters a love of learning.

    In 2026, Tia and Brian were entrusted with the next chapter of Taggart Tutors, continuing their shared vision of delivering high-quality, student-centred education that makes a meaningful difference.

    With a strong passion for literacy and specialist training in Multisensory Structured Literacy (MSL), Tia specialises in supporting students who benefit from structured and targeted instruction in reading and writing.

    She is driven to help children rediscover the joy of learning, supporting them to see themselves as capable learners and to experience success in a way that builds genuine confidence.

    Tia is known for her warm, encouraging, and often light-hearted approach. She creates a learning environment where students feel supported, capable, and proud of their progress, and places a strong emphasis on building meaningful relationships. She takes the time to understand each learner and thoughtfully tailors her teaching to meet their individual needs.

    While Tia is currently working more behind the scenes as she raises her young children, she remains closely connected to the centre, continuing to support students and families, guided by her genuine care for children and her enduring love of education.

    Outside of all things Taggart, Tia enjoys art and craft, camping, and spending time with her family.

John Taggart

  • John founded Taggart Tutors in 2020 after building a strong career in professional tuition, including managing two highly successful tuition centres following his move from Scotland to Australia in 2010.

    John believes understanding is the foundation of confidence, self-belief, and lifelong fulfilment, and he is passionate about meeting each learner where they are — academically and personally — through highly individualised support.

    John now tutors English and Humanities to learners of all ages, and is known for quickly identifying individual needs and tailoring sessions in a way that helps learners feel capable, supported, and proud of their progress.

    Outside of tutoring and developing the centre’s services, John enjoys the theatre and cinema, and reading historical fiction.

Louise P.

  • Louise joined the Taggart Tutors team in 2025 as a Centre Assistant and senior tutor. Louise supports learners across all year levels, as well as university students, with a particular passion for Psychology, English, and Humanities.

    With a Psychology degree and teaching experience from England, Louise focuses on making learning equitable, supportive, and genuinely enjoyable — helping each learner feel capable, understood, and proud of their progress.

    Outside of tutoring, Louise is a self-proclaimed nerd who loves literature, single-player games, and Dungeons & Dragons.

Manager & Senior Tutor

Jarrod L.

  • Jarrod joined the Taggart Tutors team in 2025 and supports learners across English, Literature, Humanities, Geography, and the Arts. Jarrod has been tutoring professionally for two years and also brings over eight years of experience in education settings, including personal tutoring, practical teaching, and OSHC.

    Jarrod holds a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Ancient and Roman History and is currently completing a Master of Arts in Ancient History, with plans to pursue a PhD.

    Outside of tutoring, Jarrod enjoys reading (especially history), watching sport, visiting museums and galleries, and playing video games (if time allows!)

    Uttara A.

    ELF COORDINATOR | TUTOR

    Uttara joined the Taggart Tutors team in 2023. Uttara supports learners across all subjects up to Year 10, and also works with Senior learners in selected Maths subjects and Psychology. Uttara is currently completing a BPsycSc at UQ and works as a Research Assistant.

    Bringing a thoughtful and informed approach to sessions with a bubbly, welcoming style; Uttara helps learners feel comfortable, motivated, and supported from the start.

    Outside of tutoring, Uttara loves cooking and photography.

    Ellie B.

    TUTOR

    Ellie joined the Taggart Tutors team in early 2025 and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Law (Honours) at The University of Queensland. Ellie supports learners from Prep to Year 12 in English and Humanities.

    Ellie builds strong, positive relationships with learners and supporting confidence, independence, and best-effort habits through tailored guidance.

    Outside of tutoring, Ellie enjoys reading, puzzles, creating flower bouquets, walking her chocolate Labrador, and chatting about action movies and the NRL.

    Bammini B.

    TUTOR

    Bammini joined the Taggart Tutors team in 2026. Bammini is currently studying at university and brings a thoughtful, learner-focused approach to sessions.

    Bammini aims to create a calm, supportive environment where learners can build confidence, strengthen their core content, and feel comfortable asking questions as they work towards their goals with demanding and challenging conceptual content.

    Audrey C.

    TUTOR

    Audrey has been tutoring since 2022 and has experience supporting learners in Chemistry, Maths Methods, English, Humanities, Religion, and Visual Art. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at The University of Queensland as part of her pre-med pathway.

    Audrey enjoys creating a curious, supportive, and engaging learning environment. She help learners build strong foundations, deepen understanding, and develop confidence across both analytical and creative subjects, and aims to make progress feel achievable and motivating.

    Outside of tutoring, Audrey enjoys reading, crafting, and playing the piano.

    Ryan C.

    TUTOR

    Ryan has been tutoring with Taggart Tutors since 2022, supporting learners across English, Literature, History, and selected Maths. Ryan is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts and Secondary Education at The University of Queensland, with a focus on English and History.

    Ryan is passionate about building strong rapport and providing a safe, encouraging environment where learners can take academic risks, build skills, and grow in confidence.

    Outside of tutoring, Ryan enjoys making jewellery, painting, and thrift shopping.

    Sophia F.

    TUTOR

    Sophia joined Taggart Tutors in 2025 and supports learners in English, Literature & Humanities. She has a strong passion for early years literacy development and is committed to helping her learners to become confident, capable communicators. Sophia is currently studying Business Management at The University of Queensland.

    She enjoys creating art, cooking and spending time with her golden retriever.

    Declan H.

    TUTOR

    Delcan joined Taggart as a tutor in 2026. He is currently studying Mechanical Engineering at The University of Queensland. Declan has worked as a Tutor at Kelvin Grove previously for 2 years.

    Declan likes working at Taggart Tutors because of the friendly atmosphere and the focus of rapport-building in relationships between tutors and learners to ensure a genuinely positive learning experience.

    Outside of tutoring, Declan enjoys bouldering/ rock climbing, exploring the outdoors and playing games like Pokémon Go and Hearthstone.

    Anna H.

    TUTOR

    Anna joined the Taggart Tutors team in 2024. Anna is a Maths tutor who is currently training to become a qualified teacher. She brings a calm, relaxed approach that helps learners feel comfortable and supported from the start.

    Anna is especially successful with learners who find large classrooms overwhelming or struggle with confidence, and works patiently to break concepts down step-by-step so learning feels clear and manageable. Outside of tutoring, Anna enjoys reading and spending time with friends.

    Eloise J.

    TUTOR

    Eloise supports learners across both Primary and Senior Maths, Sciences, and German, and has been tutoring since 2023. Eloise is particularly enthusiastic about helping learners strengthen their report writing skills and confidently break down lab reports into clear, manageable steps. Eloise is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Environmental Management with integrated Honours, alongside a Diploma of German.

    Eloise values the collaborative culture at Taggart Tutors and the opportunity to provide structured, personalised support that helps learners build confidence and independence over time.

    Outside of tutoring, Eloise enjoys hiking, rock climbing, and sewing.

    Tara L.

    ELF SUPERVISOR | TUTOR

    Tara has been a highly valued Taggart Tutors team member since early 2026. She tutors a range of subjects, including English & Humanities, Primary & High School Maths, Biology, and early years Literacy Acquisition. She is currently completing her Bachelor of Biology, and has spent 5 years as a swim teacher specialising in supporting neurodiverse learners and learners with disabilites & additional needs. 

    Tara loves tutoring with us because she believes that all learners should have access to the tools and assistance they need as individuals to achieve the goals they set for themselves.

    Outside of tutoring, Tara loves creativity, including reading, drawing and writing.

    Ivan M.

    TUTOR

    Ivan joined the Taggart Tutors team in 2026 and brings a calm, structured approach to mathematics that helps students feel supported and capable in their learning. He is passionate about making challenging or overwhelming content feel clear, manageable, and achievable for every learner.

    Ivan specialises in breaking down complex concepts into simple, logical steps. By guiding students through problems step-by-step, he helps them build a deep understanding of the “why” behind the maths—not just the method. This approach allows students to recognise patterns, make connections, and apply their knowledge with greater confidence across a range of topics.

    Lochie O.

    TUTOR | ELF SUPERVISOR

    Lochie joined the Taggart Tutors team in 2022 and, after extensive travelling, returned to continue tutoring with us. Lochie is an extremely versatile tutor, supporting learners across a wide range of year levels and subjects, but predominantly senior learners (Years 11–12) in Maths and Sciences.

    Lochie values the complexity of helping each learner overcome their unique learning hurdles and enjoys creating a positive, personalised learning environment where learners can feel supported and make steady progress.

    Outside of tutoring, Lochie enjoys travelling, sport, video games, and cars.

    Sandon P.

    TUTOR

    Sandon joined the Taggart Tutors team in 2022 and is currently studying Maths at university. Sandon primarily supports learners in Maths and Sciences, and is known for being a great conversationalist who makes sessions engaging and approachable. Sandon loves these subjects and is excellent at explaining complex concepts in a clear, step-by-step way that builds confidence.

    Outside of tutoring, Sandon is a movie and TV aficionado and is always ready with a vast collection of cool facts.

    Pippa S.

    TUTOR

    Pippa joined the Taggart Tutors team in 2026. Pippa primarily supports primary-aged learners in Humanities and English. She is especially skilled at helping learners settle into sessions and feel supported from the very beginning.

    Having previously been tutored with Taggart Tutors herself, Pippa brings a genuine understanding of what learners need to feel comfortable, encouraged, and ready to learn.

    Outside of tutoring, Pippa loves to read and explore the great outdoors!

    Tara W.

    TUTOR

    Tara joined the Taggart Tutors team in 2024. Tara predominantly supports primary-aged learners, and also works with secondary learners in General Maths, Junior Sciences, Humanities, and Senior Psychology.

    Tara is passionate about helping learners build confidence, strengthen core skills, and develop strategies to manage school-related challenges and anxieties. Tara is currently completing an Honours year at Bond University, with plans to continue into postgraduate study.

    Outside of tutoring, Tara enjoys reading, making art, and playing video games.

    Dr Vikram V.

    ELF SUPERVISOR | TUTOR

    Vikram joined Taggart Tutors in early 2026 and brings with him a deep passion for learning and education. As a PhD graduate from UQ. He also holds both a Bachelor and Master of Science.

    At Taggart Tutors, Vikram is thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to channel his passion for education into meaningful learning experiences. He tutors Mathematics and Science across all levels and abilities, as well as primary-aged spelling, tailoring his approach to suit each learner’s needs and helping build both confidence and capability.

    Outside of tutoring, Vikram has a keen interest in astrophysics. If a learner enjoys dinosaurs, space, or big scientific questions, Vikram is always up for a great conversation!

    Amara VH.

    ELF Supervisor | Tutor 

    Amara has been with Taggart Tutors since early 2026. She brings her passionate enthusiasm as an educator to supporting learners of all levels with English & Humanities subjects, and Primary Mathematics and spelling. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Mathematics, as well as her Diploma of Languages in Spanish.

    Amara's effective and empathetic tuition style stems from a genuine love for teaching and her personal mission to make learning exciting and engaging

    Beyond tuition and academia, Amara is an avid language learner who thrives on meeting new people.
