Our Process: Personalised, Intentional, Effective

Our enrolment process has been refined over many years to give learners the most effective support, right from the start. We place our emphasis on thoughtful tutor matching, collaborative goal-orientation from the beginning, and ongoing adjustments as learners needs evolve.

Through a range of tuition services, we support learners not only in building their knowledge and understanding, but also in developing confidence and self-belief — helping them grow into capable, confident learners.

  • When you enquire, we focus on understanding your child—their strengths, challenges, and any insights from home or school.
This allows us to tailor the Learning Needs Assessment and provide clear, considered recommendations right from the beginning. If you’re unsure, we’ll guide you—giving you the clarity needed to move forward with confidence.

  • Learning Needs Assessment (LNA)

Our Learning Needs Assessment (LNA) is the first step in your learner’s journey with Taggart Tutors. During this session, your learner works one-on-one with an Educational Consultant for up to 60 minutes in a calm, supportive environment. The LNA allows us to build a clear understanding of their strengths, challenges, and overall learning profile.

    What we assess:

Academic understanding aligned to the Australian Curriculum
We assess ACARA and/or QCAA-aligned knowledge to identify strengths and uncover gaps in conceptual understanding that may be impacting your learner’s performance.

Observation of learning behaviours and responses
We consider emotional and behavioural factors which influence learning, such as confidence, motivation, engagement, and sustained concentration.

    Holistic analysis and personalised recommendations
Our Educational Consultant will analyse your learner’s overall needs and designs the most effective Learning Program tailored specifically for them by selecting from our range of tuition services.

Parent/Carer Feedback Session (up to 60 minutes)

Parents or carers meet with the Educational Consultant for up to one hour to discuss the findings, observations and recommendations to gain a clear understanding of their learner’s needs, and collaborate on the recommended pathway for success. We will provide specific and tangible goal-oriented outcomes to design a targeted learning pathway with you based on your learner’s identified need.

  • Our Centre Assistant will confirm your initial booking and guide you through our invoicing and Consent for Service process.

From there, your learner’s tutor will receive a comprehensive brief outlining their strengths, challenges, and learning needs. This ensures every session is purposeful from the very beginning, with support tailored to help your learner feel guided and confident.

Depending on their tuition type, you will receive consistent emailed feedback notes from their tuition sessions, and you can discuss learner progress and outcomes with our management team at any time.

All sessions are booked in a minimum of a school term block to ensure significant and meaningful progress with measurable outcomes and consistent support. In rare or urgent cases, alternative arrangements may be discussed with our Centre Managers.

  • "I highly recommend it as it for students who may need a little extra help with their learning or be extended. We have seen an increase in our daughter's confidence with her learning. We are particularly impressed with this due to John’s teaching style, enthusiasm and personal care and interest in each individual student."

Both my children really enjoy attending Taggart's tutoring, and we have seen them gain confidence as well as improve academically. Definitely money well spent!"
